In this short video modern-day Apostles share their testimonies of Jesus Christ as our Savior. I add my testimony that Christ lives. He atoned for our sins, He died that we might live, He is our Savior and only through him can we have eternal life.

Words of Wisdom
There are many sources of "words of wisdom." Some are obvious--like General Conference, the scriptures, and other talks given by our leaders. Others are maybe a little less obvious. I finished reading If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat by John Ortberg a couple of weeks ago for book club. LOTS of wisdom found in those pages. And last night while finishing the latest No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency book, The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party, I came across this thought-provoking statement:
"Those who have a great deal to complain about are so often silent in their suffering, while those who have little to be dissatisfied with are frequently vocal about it." (pg. 109)
I have to wonder, which one am I?

A Few Notes from General Conference
President Monson's opening remarks: "Missionary work is the life blood of the kingdom."
Elder Perry: The greatest joy we receive in this life is by following the Savior.
Sis. Stevens: What should we learn from children? Be loving and forgiving. Have an attitude of humility, love, & reverence. Look for opportunities to serve. Be an example of faith. Meet adversity with hope. Trust in the Lord. "God gave us families to help us become what he wants us to be."
Elder Gonzalez: Making covenants is an expression of love.
Elder Cook: (I loved this one!) LDS women are incredible! Much of what is accomplished in the church is due to the service of women.
President Packer: "If someone is looking for a church that requires very little, this is not the one."
Elder Nelson: (another one of my favorite talks this time) "Our faith now becomes part of our posterity's faith later." and "We do not need to let our fears displace our faith. We can combat those fears by strengthening our faith." and "We live to die, we die to live again."
Elder Oaks: "Desires dictate our priorities. Priorities shape our choices. Choices determine our actions." and "When we have a vision of what we can become, our desire and our power to act increase enormously."
President Uchtdorf: "Selfless acts of service & consecration refine our spirits." I love that in his remarks he talked about listening with our hearts and walking in His way--both are lines from Primary songs the children have learned this year (must be why they jumped out at me). I also liked that one of the Tabernacle Choir's songs was I'm Trying to be Like Jesus--another Primary song.
Elder Bednar: Loved his analogy of light and revelation.
President Monson (Sunday morning): "Temples are more than stone & mortar, they are filled with faith and fasting. They are built with trials & testimonies. They are sanctified by sacrifices and service." and We should make whatever sacrifices are necessary to be in the temple.
Elder Scott: I found his remarks especially tender today. I usually have a hard time listening to him, but today my attention was so focused on his remarks about the sealing covenant and memories of his wife. I cried all the way through this talk.
Elder Pratt: Tithing isn't a matter of money, but a matter of faith in the Lord.
Elder Robbins: To be and to do--gotta read this one again and again.
Elder Holland: (my all-time favorite speaker) I always feel his testimony so strongly as he speaks--no matter the topic. I loved that he called the First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve, Members of the Seventy, Auxiliary Presidencies, and any who speak at General Conference "mortal messengers with angelic messages." His closing personal message to and about Pres. Monson was so touching.

Flip-Flop Love
I'm loving wearing my flip-flops for the second day in a row! I know that this is Utah, so the spring weather is (extremely) changeable, but for now, I'll take the warmer temps.(p.s. this is my first and oldest pair of Teva flip-flops, I have another pair in blue and plan to get another pair this summer--a little pricey, but if they last for years-which these ones have--then I will eventually get one in each color of the rainbow!)
