During Fall Break a couple of weeks ago, Maren and I went to Provo to have lunch with Aubrey and Malary (my niece). After a couple of other errands down that way, we decided to take the long way home--via the Alpine Loop and Cascade Springs. The pictures don't do justice to the magnificent views we saw. Cascade Springs wasn't green and luscious like in the summer, but it certainly had it's own beauty on this October day.

Another Good Quote
"Going forward with our service and work is an important way to qualify for revelation. In my study of the scriptures I have noted that most revelation to the children of God comes when they are on the move, not when they are sitting back in their habitations waiting for the Lord to tell them the first step to take."—Dallin H. Oaks, "In His Own Time, in His Own Way"

Good Quote to Remember
"We cannot always see the end from the beginning. We trust in the Lord and wait upon Him, knowing that in His own time and His own way, He will bring about His miracles."

General Conference One-Liners
What a great General Conference this weekend! Here are some of my favorite "one-liners" from the talks (not necessarily direct quotes). (to watch, listen, or read any of these messages, go to lds.org or click here)
Elder Robert D. Hales: The greatest blessings of General Conference come after the conference is over--as we go home to ponder and live what we have heard about.
Sis. Carole M. Stephens: God will keep His promises to you as you honor your covenants with Him.
Elder David A. Bednar: Tithing brings significant but subtle blessings.
Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf: "Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith."
Pres. Boyd K. Packer: Make scripture reading a part of your regular routine and blessings and protection will come to you.
Have faith rather than fear.
Elder Timothy J. Dyches: Opposition is necessary to our growth.
Elder M. Russell Ballard: The voice of the Good Shepherd is our own voice.
Pres. Henry B. Eyring: Success in His service always produces miracles beyond our own powers.
"There is joy guaranteed for the faithful."
Elder Dallin H. Oaks: "Our greatest treasure on earth and in heaven are our children and our posterity."
Elder Richard G. Scott: "The Lord sees weaknesses different than He sees rebellion."
Pres. Thomas S. Monson: "Shall I falter or shall I finish?"
Show increased kindness to each other.
Elder Russell M. Nelson: "Each day is a day of decision and our decisions determine our destiny."

Missionaries are Awesome!
It's true--missionaries ARE awesome!! And they come in all sizes, shapes, colors, genders, and ages. Yep, all ages. Dad & Georgia just left for their mission in the Philippines, Cebu mission where they will spend 18 months. We were lucky enough to have them at our home the night before the MTC (easiest MTC drop-off ever the next day!), and then for the weekend before they flew off to Cebu. We had several grandkids over for dinner on Sunday--Mikkel & Lise came down from Rexburg for the weekend, Jacy & Nick (& Nick's girlfriend, Mary) came from Provo for the evening, and Aubrey & Maren were here as well. Here are a few pictures from that evening and also from the airport Monday afternoon.
