1) Families are central to Heavenly Father's plan.
This was our Sharing Time lesson today. We talked about what central means and about how important something that is central is to the overall piece. We had visitors from the scriptures come through our Time Machine (you can read about that here on our Primary President's blog). They were Adam & Eve and Lehi & Sariah. They each talked about their families and how they had followed Heavenly Father's plan for them. We sang "The Family is of God" (which always makes me cry--today was no exception) and I closed with my testimony of how important our families are. So a shout-out to my family for being the great people you are!!
2) "How does one magnify a calling? Simply by performing the service that pertains to it" President Thomas S. Monson
This was quoted by Pres. Eyring in his priesthood session talk from October's General Conference. Simple, but profound, isn't it?

I love the quote by President Monson. It reminds me of something from a book I'm reading by Elder Scott. He says, "The genius of the gospel plan is that by doing. . . we gain the preparation necessary for eternal happiness in the presence of the Lord." I love that, because while I can't be perfect, I *can* do what I'm asked.
ReplyDeletePS. . . your sharing time was wonderful! (And I always tear up singing that song too.)
