What About Mom?

Gary & I took Aubrey to move down to BYU today. The only time I got sad was right before I got back home and I wondered if he would have anyone to go to the Freshman BBQ with tonight. I felt the same way when I dropped him off at 7th grade (oh so many years ago) and wondered if he'd have anyone to eat lunch with. Just as he was fine back in 7th grade, I'm sure he'll be fine now. But what about Mom?

OK, now I'm getting a little teary eyed. . .

  1. I think I can relate. No one told me Kindergarten would be so hard--on me! I'm sure he will have fun and do so well in college though. You have such good kids!

  2. I can't offer empathy for having gone through it already, but I can say that I frequently fast forward to four years from now when Daniel will leave. All I can think it is must all balance out in the end 'cause we were so happy to be the one leaving when we were freshman, now we have to pay the "sadness" price so they can be happy now too. Someday they'll be parents and the cycle will be complete! I'm thinking of you tonight and wishing Aubrey well. Love ya!

  3. Aubrey is a freshman at BYU?! He must have lied about his age. I know I'm about ready to start lying about mine.

  4. Oh great, you mean I have to worry about who my kids will eat with for the next 15 years? Shoot. I was hoping that would be a one-time deal. Thanks for the warning.

  6. I remember the trip to Utah to drop you off at BYU. Talk about a basket case - ME. You found someone to eat lunch with, etc. And you even found someone to spend eternity with. Life is good.
